Just Enough Love

for who

I am.

This little sweetie is the first in what I hope are going to be a series of paintings I am calling 'little sprouts' because they begin as a wild rumpus of paints and media on canvas to bloom and come to life.

I was lucky enough to preview the book and pleased to report that it is a beautiful and inspiring publication. I'll be sharing more details for the giveaway very soon, so stay tuned.

Also my heart and prayers go out to all of my east coast friends and followers who have been affected by Sandy's fury. I hope all of you are somewhere warm, safe and dry. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Signs of Life

A background is growing.

I've been working on this background

 for a couple of weeks now 

and it's starting to come together,
it's starting to have a life of it's own.

Sometimes I just need to let 

things fall away;

give myself over to the process, 

rather than the outcome, 

often that takes time, 

like a seed put to earth, 

it needs a bit of watering, 

a little sunshine, 

before things begin to happen,

before the roots reach gently 

into the soil and take hold.

Invitation

it is not what you first think

there is no effort of will

no firm resolve in the face

of this thing called living

There is only paying attention

to the quiet each morning

while you hold your cup

in the cool air

and then that moment

you choose to spread

your love like a table cloth

upon the talbe and

invite the whole day in again.

A Half Pint of Love

Sam and Summer

This is a what a half pint of love looks like. 

Our heart hurts today as we said goodbye to Summer; our gentle ball of fur. She was about 10 years old, which is senior in guinea pig years. We knew this was coming. She had stopped eating and drinking a few days ago but still loved to be held and gently petted which we did last night. I was still saddened when I checked on her this morning to find her in distress. She is now on her way to the Rainbow Bridge 

She will be missed. She brought us a lot of joy, smiles and laughter and was truly a gentle spirit.

Sam; her sister on the left, made her own journey to the rainbow bridge 5 years ago. They were reunited today.
